Clínica Vintersol is a rehabilitation centre specialized in the treatment of neurological injuries -with central as well as peripheral affectation- and rheumatic diseases.
We use methods of proven therapeutic effectiveness and used extensively in other Spanish regions. Our programs involve individual sessions as well as the very popular group treatment sessions, traditionally offered in Vintersol and guaranteed by more than 40 years of experience in the field of the neurological and functional rehabilitation.
The treatments can be carried out within programs where housing in our centre is integrated or through out-patients programs. Our programs are basically aimed to treat neurological, rheumatic and muscular pathologies: multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, ataxias, Parkinson’s disease, ELA, dystrophies, skull-encephalic traumatisms, cerebrovascular accidents, bone-marrow injuries, whiplash, post-polio syndrome, sport injuries, etc.
We have specialist doctors in neurology, neurophysiology and rehabilitation, physiotherapists, occupational masseurs, therapists, sanitary nurses, assistants, speech therapists and psychologist.
The facilities are accessible for people with functional deficit.
There are two swimming pools, one of them with fresh salt water and heated to 33-34ºC.
The rehabilitation program that Vintersol offers is customized and designed specifically for each case, based on the pathology, clinical history and the initial evaluation of the patient. The ultimate objective is to provide significant improvements in different scopes of the health, the autonomy and the quality of life. It can include one, several or all of the following functional programs:
Intensive physical and functional training; if necessary, electromechanical systems of partial suspension of the corporal weight are used. The objective is to boost the infralesional musculature, to favour bipedalism and to educate walk in patients with bone-marrow injuries, acquired cerebral damage or other pathologies.
Evaluation, treatment and monitoring of the chronic pain from an interdisciplinary model that includes rehabilitation and pharmacologic treatment. At a physiotherapeutic level, procedures like the therapeutic massage, relaxing massage, manual lymphatic drainage, functional bandage and neuromuscular bandage (kinesiotaping), myofascial instrumental reeducation (hooks), propioceptive reeducation, structural osteopathy, thermo and cryotherapy and electroterapia (TENS, PENS, excitomotor currents, ultrasounds).
Botulinic toxin is administered intramuscularly for the treatment of the focal spasticity. The purpose is to obtain a functional improvement, to treat the pain, to improve the adaptation to the orthosis, etc…
accomplishment of different exercises involving stretching of affected muscles with the help of physiotherapists, either individually or in group. It is specially indicated for muscular rigidity and the spasticity. It decreases the risk of injuries and prevents compensations.
different treatments with water are taken: simple baths, contrast baths and hydro-kinesitherapy, which consists of the accomplishment of exercises in aquatic means, taking advantage of the thermal and mechanical properties of water. This type of treatment can be made in group or with a physical therapist assistant. It is specially indicated to strengthen the musculature, to improve the perception of the body scheme, the motor coordination and balance.
The occupational therapy has as goal to provide a greater autonomy and improve the quality of life of people with a disability by using proactive activities, the environment, computers, technical assistance and ortho-prosthetic elements. Work is done to improve basic activities of daily living and also to improve the more technical activities, as leisure and work.
A speech therapist evaluates and treats the difficulty to swallow, that can be originated by mechanical and/or neuromuscular disruptions. The objective is to improve the ingestion of both liquid and solid food, as well as improve the problems derived from dysphagia, as can be excessive salivation, esophageal reflux, etc.
Using standardized tests the neuropsychologist values the cognitive alterations (memory, attention, perception, language, etc.) and conductual alterations (emotional lability, behaviour disruptions, executive dysfunction, etc.) that can take place as a result of a cerebral injury. The determination of the affectation profile allows creating a rehabilitation program aimed to optimize the recovery of the affected superior functions as well as to facilitate alternative strategies that can compensate the sequels. The neuropsychological rehabilitation is aimed at patients with focal cerebral injuries as well as to patients who undergo degenerative processes, as the dementias. Take as example the Alzheimer Disease.
The communication disorders are very frequent after suffering a cerebral injury, being showed either by language alteration or by speech or voice alteration. In these cases, both an integral evaluation and a diagnostic orientation are carried out, allowing to determine the treatment programs, as well as the most adequate systems to obtain a functional communication in each case.
The program includes reeducative techniques, alternative methods and augmentative strategies of communication, both in oral and written language. Children who present retardation in the acquisition of language, dyslalia, dysartria, dyslexia, as well as people with hypoacusia, disglosia or dysphonia, are also patients exposed to receive help from speech therapists.
Treatment of acute and chronic sport injuries, prevention of injuries and prescription of physical exercise. It is specially focused for the rehabilitation and treatment of sprains, muscle spasms, tendinitis, epicondylitis, muscle ruptures, bone fractures, neuralgias and arthralgias.
